Who we are

Our journey began in 1995 when volunteers of the Harrisonburg Rescue Squad branched out to start their own community rescue squad. In April of 1996, the Virginia Association of Volunteer Rescue Squads certified that the Singers Glen Volunteer Rescue Squad (SGVRS) was qualified to render services. Since then, the rescue squad has grown and seen many changes.

Today, SGVRS is made up of more than 60 members who have chosen to give back to the community where they live as dedicated volunteers. SGVRS provides all levels of care from basic medical needs to advanced life support. Our agency and its members aim to provide the best pre-hospital care available during your time of need. It is our goal each and every time the squad is called upon to be prompt, courteous, and provide skilled care for whatever the need may be.

Now more than 30 years after its creation, our mission remains the same; to be ready when called upon by our neighbors in their time of need. As we continue to grow as an agency, the high level of training of our members and their continued growth is what allows us to be ever ready and willing to respond. The trust of our community is paramount, and we are honored to serve when called upon.
