Membership Types

Opertional Membership

To become a Full Member of the Squad you must:

  • Have successfully completed your trainee period

  • Have successfully completed Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider CPR and maintain it throughout membership

  • Have been voted into Full Membership by a majority of the voting members present at a regularly scheduled squad meeting

  • Have completed or enrolled in an Emergency Vehicle Operators Course (EVOC) or Emergency Medical Technicians course within One (1) year of joining

  • Full Members are eligible to hold elected and appointed offices if requirements are met

  • Full Members shall be required to:

    • Run a minimum of Sixteen (16) hours of duty per month unless excused or on an approved leave of absence.

    • Attend or be excused from 75% of the regularly scheduled monthly squad meetings for the previous twelve (12) months

    • Attend or be excused from 75% of of the regularly scheduled monthly training drills for the previous twelve (12) months

  • The Board of Directors will contact members who fail to meet these requirements and appropriate action will be taken if warranted.

Auxiliary Membership

To Become an Auxiliary Member of the squad you must:

  • Have successfully completed the probationary period

  • Have been voted into Auxiliary Membership by a majority of the voting members present at a squad meeting

  • Complete a minimum of Ten (10) hours of service to the squad in a twelve month period.

  • Auxiliary Members shall not be eligible to hold any Operational office of the squad

  • Auxiliary Members shall not be eligible to participate in calls for service, except for assistance with scene rehabilitation, but must meet certain requirements to do so.

  • The Board of Directors will contact members who fail to meet these requirements and appropriate action will be taken if warranted.

Lifetime membership

To become a Lifetime Member of the squad you must:

  • Be a full member in good standing for a minimum of Eight (8) years. The member shall designate which category of Lifetime Membership that they wish to align themselves with.

  • A member who has been forced to leave active status due to health, age, or extenuating circumstances may be awarded Lifetime Membership by the Board of Directors and approval of the membership

  • Lifetime Membership is broken down in to Three (3) categories:

    • Active Lifetime Membership

      • A Lifetime Member who continues to meet and maintain current requirements and regulations as set forth by the Standard Operating Guidelines (SOGs) for full membership

    • Contributing Lifetime Membership

      • A Lifetime Member who does not have any duty requirements and as long as they maintain the required certifications may participate in squad activities and calls for service if approved by the Rescue Chief. Contributing Lifetime Members shall not be eligible to hold any Operational Office of the squad, but may hold Administrative Office. Contributing Life Members may vote on squad matters as long as they are in good standing

    • Inactive Lifetime Membership

      • A Lifetime Member who cannot or who are unwilling to perform as an Active or Contributing Lifetime Member shall be classified as an Inactive Lifetime Member. Inactive Lifetime Members shall not be eligible to hold any office of the squad nor vote on squad matters.

  • When a Lifetime Member chooses to change Lifetime Member categories, they shall make written notice to the Board of Directors. No vote is needed to change Lifetime Member category status.

  • Any Lifetime Member who is found to have brought discredit to the squad may be dismissed by the membership with a majority of votes cast. The Board of Directors and/or membership may restrict a Lifetime Member from participating in squad functions

Honorary Membership

To be awarded Honorary Membership of the squad you must:

  • Have donated time, money, talents, special skills, knowledge, or financial assistance to the squad

  • Nominations for Honorary Membership shall be made in writing by a Full Member to the Board of Directors and receive a majority vote of the members present at a squad meeting

  • Honorary Members shall have no requirements, no voting privileges, not be eligible to hold any office, not be eligible for Lifetime Membership, not be eligible to respond to emergency calls for service (except career personnel), nor operate emergency vehicles (except for career personnel).

Junior Membership

To become a Junior Member of the squad you must:

  • Be under the age of Eighteen (18) and/or still enrolled in High School

    • Junior Members must vacate the premise by 22:00 hours on school nights (Sunday-Thursday) and 23:00 hours on non-school nights (Friday and Saturday) during the school year.

  • Members who are under Eighteen (18) may spend the night during non school times of the year only after a permission from the members parent(s) or guardian(s) has been submitted to and approved by the President. The member must have a non-probationary, released member who is over the age of Eighteen (18), who is no longer enrolled in high school, and who agrees to be responsible for the member, and who agrees to stay at the station until at least 06:00 hours. The member who is responsible must be the same gender as the member who makes the request. If at anytime a call is received that the Junior Member cannot participate in, the member responsible for the Junior Member cannot participate in that call for service either. At no time shall a member who is under Eighteen (18) be allowed to stay by themselves at the station after 23:00 hours.

  • Members who are under Eighteen (18) must be enrolled in high school and must submit a copy of their report card to the President within Seven (7) days of the report cards being distributed by the school. Failure to do so will result in the member being suspended until the report card is turned into the President

  • Members who are under Eighteen (18) must maintain a minimum of overall GPA of 2.0 for the reporting period and must not have a failing grade “F” in any subject. If a members GPA is below 2.0 for the grading period, or the member receives an “F” in any subject, the member shall be suspended until the next reporting period, or until a progress report is provided to the President which shows improvement to their GPA of at least 2.0 or above.

  • Members who are under Eighteen (18) shall not have a vote in squad matters and cannot hold any Operational or Administrative Office.

  • Members who are under Eighteen (18) shall not have installed in their vehicle nor utilize an emergency warning light (red or red/white) in their vehicle regardless of their training level, nor should they be allowed to drive any apparatus at any time

  • Members who are under Eighteen (18) shall only be required to pull 1/2 of their duty during the school year. During non-school periods, they must pull full duty.
